LAWRENCE, Kan. — Although the No. 10 Kansas Jayhawks (20-5, 9-4)had lost just two straight, it had to have felt like a pack of wild animals were stampeding them in the middle of water-less desert.
You can blame the feeling on losing to lowly Baylor on Feb. 12 before losing to Iowa State for the fifth straight time.
Nick Collison turned into a bright green, water-full field for the stampede to rest in.
Collison drilled a career-high 26 points to help the Jayhawks down Colorado (15-12, 5-9), 91-79, in a Big 12 contest.
The Buffs were in contention for most of the first half, heading into the lockerroom with a minor 39-32 deficit.
But the Buffs couldn’t seem to even claw into contention for the lead, as the Jayhawks continued to increase their advantange.
It marked Kansas’ 24th straight victory over the Buffs.
